We are delighted to announce our student, Michael, won gold in his division at the weekend’s British Masters. During a nerve-racking few minutes, the 8 year old performed his 2 patterns of choice to claim the British Masters title on Sunday. To add to the success, his fellow teammate, Denzel, beat the rest of the division by securing the runner up position on the podium.
In light of the European Poomsae Championships that is currently taking place, Instructor Alan Lee decided to put together a small team for the competition. During the build-up, Alan dedicated his time and skill to ensure the boys were feeling confident and looking sharp. Following the success Alan noted,
“For me, it is important to show the children that Taekwondo is not just about sparring. It can be a dynamic sport but it can still encompass traditional elements you would expect to find within a martial art. It was a joy to highlight to the youngsters that they can do both”.
The level of competition was high on the day and organisers were pleased to inform us that we had won the first Welsh poomsae gold in over 5 years. What an achievement!
Well done to the team.
